KROGER Houston Test Market Going Nationwide (Possibly)

So Kroger has stopped their double /triple coupon policy in Houston (as a test market..) well I guess they think they passed the test because rumor has it that it will soon be going nationwide! (yes just a rumor right now) Well I hope you will encourage everyone you know, to let Kroger know WE DON'T LIKE IT! Join  KROGER COUPONERS  on Facebook and leave comments on Kroger's Facebook page. If your checking this blog or many of the others that are out there, you are probably trying to save money with coupons as well! Kroger does have higher prices than other stores and double /triple coupons have been the main reason I shop there so often, with that being no more (starting on the 13 of April) they will only give face value which means there is no reason to be loyal to them any more! Kroger ending Double /Triple Coupons Donations will take a hit!

I started Coupons4acause with the specific intent of donating free and cheap items to various charities in the Houston area... well Kroger has announced they will no longer be doubling /tripling coupons! Too bad, I guess I will have to do my coupon shopping elsewhere as everyone takes coupons at face value so there is no incentive to shop at Kroger any more! I will still search out free and cheap deals so that I can continue to donate, but I guess Kroger will not get much of my business anymore!I think I can find better prices elsewhere. So sad.. I know the whole couponing community is very unhappy about this change, I and many hope they will reconsider, but I guess we will have to wait and see. In the mean time I guess I will search out deals at the many other stores in the area!

Randall's Run..

Went to Randalls to take advantage of the frozen food coupons they have ( it ends tomorrow!) The Marie Calenders pot pies are on sale for 1.99 and some were 2.79 There is a coupon in this weeks flyer for $5 off if you spend $15 So I bought 5 @ $1.99 and two at $2.79 = 15.53 - $5 off $15 plus in the Randalls frozen food book the have $1.50 off Used 7 -10.50 So I ended up paying .53 cents for 7 pot pies! Had a  gift card (spring cleaning pays sometimes!) to get the buy one get one free Turkey and the lemonade was only $1 a bottle No coupon for that! I hope the Pot Pies are good!

Walgeeens Run...

I have a lot of RR's to use up from last weeks Almay deal, so I ran to Walgreen's  for some needed items and some treats! We were out of soda they are On sale 3/$11 not a great deal (CVS had a better deal) The trash bags are $2.99 each with coupon from sale flyer, Gain dish soap free + with coupon from P&G home mailer booklet ,Secret Clinical Trial Size was $2.99( this stuff is awesome!) There is a $2 coupon in the 2/27 P&G insert and if you spend $10 you get $3 RR's back, Whitman's Chocolate $4.99 less $1 in the walgreens coupon book ( near the flyers at the front of the store) and the snickers eggs are free with coupon from 3/20 rp. I used 25in RR's and paid $5.43 in cash :( ..but got back $3 rr so all this was $2.43! I'm not complaining!

CVS RUN...

Had $ $10.98 in extra bucks to use before they expired so I picked up some item that would allow me to get stuff and come out with more extra bucks! The Physicians Formula makeup was $5.99, the shave Gels was $3.49,( there is a coupon but I didn't have it with me) the snickers were free with Coupons from 3/20 rp and 4 diet welches juice clearance (not pictured) @ 45 cents each Used the $10.98 in ecb's So nothing oop and got back $7 for the makeup and $2.50 for the shave gel! So I am back with $9.50 in ecb's! Awesome!

Walgreens has an awesome deal going on Almay products! My daughter and I went buzzing around town and stopped in at several Walgreens in our area to do this deal. You'll need to look for the Spring Beauty Book (near the beauty counters) In it, you'll find a $2 off Almay products coupon Use this and combine with the $2 Coupon from the 3/6 SS.( a MM even without the insert Coupon!) Buy Almay Makeup remover priced at $4.19 less the $4 in coupons (be sure to hand over the insert coupon first) you get it for .20 cents and get a $5 catalina coupon back to use on a future purchase!. The makeup is also on sale from $5.59-5.99.  We were able to find plenty of coupons books available at each store as well as plenty of stock of makeup and remover (No shelf clearing by this couponer!We went to 6 different stores! ). They let us get two each per store. So in the end we paid about $10.50 for everything but got $110 in catalina's!  Thanks to Stephanie and Imm93 from my coupon group for letting me know about this deal!

Kroger run for more freebies to donate

I made a quick run to Kroger because luckily I had a friend give me another stack of papers from last week that had the free cat food coupons more to donate! While I was there I used the extra dog food coupons I had for more.. yes more Free dog food (How could I resist they paid me to buy it!) more Yaksobi noodles for the food bank, lots of hand soap, yogurt,  a few paper towels and I finally remembered to get ketchup! Before coupons my total was 85.96 After coupons I paid only .63 cents! and they gave me a $2 catalina for buying the dog food! Whoop!

Breath Right and Get Spicy!

I got some major overage from Walmart Today! Breath Right Stips 2ct are .97 cents and there was a coupon for $1.50 off a 12 count or less in the 1/30 RP .53 cents overage on each! Also the 3/13 RP there is a $1 off McCormick spices and they are only .98 cents right now.. free!(+2 cents overage) I used my overage for some items I don't usually have coupons for (Yes I take sugar in my coffee!) They best part is Before coupons.. balance 34.73 after coupons, they paid me .26 cents to take it all out of the store! I really like the new Walmart coupon policy!

Shelter Donations

Shelter Donations are ready to go! I'll be taking all this cat food to a local shelter. As well as the food and treats, the shelters are happy to take extra newspapers and old bath mats and rugs that they use as beds for the animals! The hardest part of making these donations for me is leaving the pets there!

Coupons + mega sale = Lots of free Dog food!

The five dogs in my family are stocked up with food thanks to the Kroger mega sale and bogo (buy one get one free) coupons, all this dog food was free! I went to several different Kroger's in my area to stock up (and not clear the shelves :) ! Thanks to the friends in my coupon group who share their unwanted pet food coupons! The Pedigree is $1 a can, if you buy 10 in the mega sale it they take off $5 at the end of your transaction making them just .50 cents a can..combined with the bogo coupons that take off $1(pre mega price)  I have a whopping 70 cans of food, and a group of happy dogs!

If you are in the Houston area…. please come and help us assemble hygiene kits for the earthquake victims in Japan! It is easy and should only take about an hour. I am personally using this as a service project for my children and am having the kids do the assembly part when we put them together. WE NEED YOU TO HELP!
Please take an hour out of your day Thursday to help. Bring what you have and if you are able to purchase some items we would greatly appreciate it! If each family beings enough supplies to make 5 kits I am hoping we can get 400 done!!
Assembly Instructions
2 unbreakable combs (no sharp handles)
4 toothbrushes (packaged)
1 tube of toothpaste (6-8 oz., no pumps)
2 bars of soap (approximately 4 to 5 oz.)
2 hand towels (new towels, approximately 15 by 25. To sew towels, serge or zigzag the edges of terry cloth to make a 15 by 25 towel.)

My deals at Walgreens were done in a few separate transactions If you got this weeks inserts you can do these deals too! Right Guard body wash and Deodorant are buy one get one free and there is a buy one get one free coupon in the 3/13 RP insert! use that to get both for free! Also there was a $1 Irish spring coupon they are on sale 2/$6 and get $4 RR's when you buy two. So use two coupons Pay $4 and get it right back in RR's! The Clearasil was free with this this coupon(you have to register)after the $2 rr I got back for buying it and the cranberries were a treat for me and the dog toy a surprised for the dogs( on clearance of course!) the Arizona tea is my son's favorite and a deal at 2/$1 with coupon in the wags flyer

Made a  trip to CVS to get some freebies and cheapies
The Tena's $9.99 are free after extra bucks and a money maker after this Tena $2.50 off coupon as is the thera flu single .99cents( wouldn't take my coupon:( The chips were on clearance for .25 cents a bag the glasses on clearance  were $3 ( I'm always misplacing mine!)  Milano cookies were $1 but she forgot to take the coupon off and for the soda I had a $2 off coupon from the facebook cvs I told you about last week! Total 16.02 Used 15 in ecb's and paid $1.02 oop got back $10.99 in ecb's for next time! Some times couponing doesn't always go as planned!
